THE PARACHUTE OF HAPPINESS IS WITHIN US, WE JUST NEED TO DIVE IN.
Do you want to be happy in your life? Such a silly question to ask, who doesn’t want to be happy.
So, for that you just need to dive in ‘You, inside you’. That is where the happiness is, commonly known as internal happiness. It is about the friendship between your heart and mind that connects ‘ourselves’ with us.
Happiness is a fruitful joy, and the pleasantness which introduces us to this beautiful world that we live in.
Happiness can be as little as a butterscotch ice-cream with more chocolate chips or as big as a loving relationship. This may be seen through different lenses for each of us. Considering the above two examples, for an 8-year-old ice-cream lover, the butterscotch ice cream is happiness and to the one who is always in search of love and care, the ‘perfect’ relationship may be their road to happiness.
The first level of happiness represents short-term positive emotions sometimes called “simple pleasures”. They can result from an ice-cream, a good meal, a hobby we enjoy, watching a good movie, listening to music we like, and so on. It is quite easy to see this level of happiness because of the immediate feelings of joy people experience.
But, slowly yet again, we may feel something is missing. We start looking for the idol happiness and may get into this process of racing after the ‘something else’ for our happiness.
Thus, in the instance mentioned above you may be depending your happiness on external factors and never feel a life-long happiness. We feel to experience happiness throughout your life, you need to find your internal/inner happiness.
You can start with baby steps towards your lifelong happiness/inner happiness.
The first step is feeling good about oneself!
The five aspects of happiness pointed out by Sonima a happiness and mediation blog. These may aid to a holistic life and lead to lifelong happiness are as follows;
· Spiritual: it’s about finding a sense of purpose and meaning in life. Take at least 10 minutes every day to look through what is your purpose and meaning.
· Physical: it’s about the feeling of being alive and healthy. Take at least 30 minutes to exercise. Eat healthy.
· Intellectual: Constant learning and creativity. You can learn this aspect from every moment of life. Just look. Observe. Think. Grow.
· Relational: it’s not all about people, sometimes about animals too. Be present fully to feel this happiness.
· Emotional: Be hopeful in moments of sorrow, anger, disgust or fear. You need to embrace the feeling and believe ‘Ye Waqt bhi Guzaar jayega’ (This time will pass, there is no up without a down).
Let’s Find happiness for ourselves today!
· Find yourself a comfortable place.
· Think of the day you were happy with yourself, when your happiness lifted you up.
· Embrace that moment, breath and live that moment once again. It could be anything which made you happy, it could be a special event or a proud moment.
· Think about what was it that made you happy.
· Is it the person or is it your feeling of being loved?
· Is it the material or what you felt about yourself after that attaining the material?
· Is it about being at a place or the feeling of being there?
Let us remind you, ‘You’ are a miracle who can sense and feel. You are unique and the only one in the world. Did you realize that? Its only you who was able to do this!
Happiness is all about you!
As you saw above, Happiness is a choice within yourself. It has nothing to do with external circumstances Happiness is always “You”. We often take our body for granted but never realise this is the most priceless and beautiful thing we have. Happiness is within us. It is not outside. Happiness is ‘you’ its within you If you want to continue feeling happy, feel that inner happiness that you possess.
For us: Happiness is conceptualized as an enduring state of body that consists of the capacity to experience pleasure in daily life, as well as the ability to engage one’s skills and talents to enrich one’s life and the lives of others.
